February 6th, 2020 @ 2:24pm – from Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure
Starting tomorrow (February 7) at 8:00am single lane alternating traffic (SLAT) will be operational on Hemlock Valley Road. Drivers should expect delays of up to an hour, as crews and equipment are still working to fully complete the emergency repairs which will require traffic to be stopped intermittently. Please plan accordingly.
SLAT will be available 24 hours a day and will generally be restricted to a 1km stretch near the bottom of the road, however, there will be isolated SLAT occurrences through the area impacted by the mudslide.
SLAT will be implemented with traffic control and a pilot vehicle will no longer be needed.
I want to thank everyone for your patience as we work to get the road open.
Just a reminder to stay safe and remember to drive to the road conditions.
Regards,
Elena Farmer
