There was a significant diesel spill on Mt Woodside last night (November 22, 2021) that has caused extreme traffic backups in both directions on HWY 7 and connecting side roads. As a result our crews are fully engaged trying to assist CVSE and RCMP in getting this section of highway cleared and open for access to emergency traffic and essential services. As we try to continue to make progress with repairs and recovery needed throughout the Fraser Valley we are prioritizing resources where they are needed most.
As a result, given the snowfall at Hemlock, we may fall out of specification on Hemlock Valley Road and in the subdivisions as the Hemlock crews are currently assisting on Mt Woodside.
As such, it is strongly advised to avoid all travel on Hemlock Valley road and Hwy 7 from Hemlock this morning.
