H.E.L.P. Emergency Response Guide and Update - July 2023
The Hemlock Emergency Lookout Program (HELP) Emergency Response Guide is now available for public consumption on hvha.ca!
We are still in the early stages of this great investment into the community and there is much more work to be done. The downloadable guide located at the bottom of this page outlines the purpose of HELP, its command and role structure with responsibilities, and the equipment and materials all the HELP volunteers are expected to need to carry out the important functions they have offered to do.
Over the coming months, your HVHA directors will be working with Sasquatch Mountain Resort management and the Hemlock Valley Volunteer Fire Department to secure funding for HELP equipment and its safe, reachable storage. We will be building up the HELP Emergency Response Guide with better defined structure and information for specific emergency scenarios in Hemlock Valley that can be practiced in real-world settings with the HVVFD, Sasquatch Mountain Resort and Hemlock Valley Utilities staff. And, we will be actively seeking out all the volunteers that are essential to the program’s success.
Thank you everyone for getting on board with the Hemlock Emergency Lookout Program. We look forward to working with you all and we will also keep you updated as these development steps progress!
As always, the HVHA encourages homeowners to ask questions and make HELPful comments and suggestions.
We’re not only here because of you. We’re here for you.
